Air Supply: Defying the Soft Rock Label
For five decades, Air Supply has been categorized as a "soft rock" band, a label that lead singer Russell Hitchcock vehemently disputes. He asserts that both he and co-founder Graham Russell have always viewed themselves as a rock and roll band, evolving their sound with advancements in technology and musical talent. Hitchcock expresses pride in their current performances, stating that he has gained confidence on stage over the years. As they embark on their 'Lost In Love 50th Anniversary Tour,' Air Supply aims to showcase their rock credentials at major venues across North America. Despite the passage of time, Hitchcock remains passionate about performing their classic hits, noting that each audience brings a unique energy to the show. He emphasizes that Air Supply's concerts are high-energy rock experiences, inviting fans?both old and new?to join in the celebration. With a new album on the horizon and plans for a biopic, Air Supply continues to redefine their legacy while maintaining their commitment to delivering memorable live performances.
Air Supply West Palm Beach Concert reviews
Air Supply
The band was really really good. They seemed like genuinely nice guys who took the time to stay after the show ended and shook hands with concert-goers. Kudos to them!
My disappointment was in the venue. Security was very good. Masks were required to get in the front door; as soon as we went through security and entered the lobby, masks came off never to be seen for the rest of the evening. My husband and I were shocked at the lack of COVID protocols. I did not feel comfortable or safe from that perspective. You would assume from the 'mask requirement' that they would be worn throughout the concert - not so.
